About Me

Hi, I’m Katie. I live for the details that contribute to a bigger picture. The magic, if you will, that creates the story.

The texture of brush strokes on a painted canvas; the way strands of hair dance on the wind; droplets on fallen leaves after a rainstorm; the faded colors of vintage photographs; the way pencil sounds when put to paper; the colors of the sunset in the distant west; bits of paper and mementos from life adventures and places explored—my love for the tiny bits of magic that contribute to the beauty of life are something that have always inspired my work and career.

I am California born and raised, now living the midwestern life somewhere north of the 45th parallel in Michigan.

My passion for art started as a child, learning how to draw cartoons and hand-letter from my grandfather and uncle, both traditionally trained sign painters, illustrators and artists. It has inspired me to chart my own path in the field of design.

With over 20 years of experience, I've worked in many different areas from design and photography to marketing and social media in a range of environments: senior designer and assistant creative director for retail, manufacturing, B2B and as a freelance designer and photographer.
